Two storeyed houses were vested with tsunami victims of Talgaswala Ambalangoda by Southern Provincial Council Chief Minister Shan Wijayalal de Silva recently, writes  D. C. de Silva, Kahawa special corr. , Kahawa, Daily News 291206 at http://www.dailynews.lk/.Forwarded by Budhi Mulyawan 291206.

Participating as chief guest he said, "My thanks and gratitude go to all temples and churches in the province for providing shelter, food and cloth for all tsunami affected.

"Punarudaya" organisation president, late Dhammika Helambage was instrumental in the launch of the housing project, and I recall his name at the occasion although he is not among us today.

"When late Dhammika Helambage wanted to launch this housing project, he had no land for it. I gave the land on which the former Talgaswala K. V. was located, taking all responsibility on to my shoulder.

Ambalangoda electorate is one, that has no crown lands in abundance.

To rehabilitate the worstly affected segments due to tsunami was not an easy task. But we could accomplish the task under the guidance of president Mahinda Rajapaksa." Use these houses with care thinking that, tsunami was a blessing in disguise" he said.

Ishani Senanayake from Germany who was also a stakeholder of the project said that facilities would be provided to the dwellers to live a decent life.

Ambalangoda District Secretary Kamal Ranasinghe and several others participated.
