Over 130,000 houses to be constructed in Batticaloa District |

National Housing Development Authority (NHDA) Chairman Mohammed Rafeek said that 130,879 housing units are to be constructed in the Batticaloa district to cater to the needs of the district including the recently cleared areas, writes Mohammed Naalir, Daily News 061107 at http://www.dailynews.lk/. Twenty six thousand houses would be renovated while another 50,000 completed to meet the housing needs in the Batticaloa District. Out of this 10,000 housing units were constructed under the tsunami housing project, apart from the 12,500 units to be constructed by Government and Non Governmental Organisations.
