Hampton village of Sri Lanka built by Dr. Upali Wickramasekara at a cost of Rs. 100 million will be ceremonially opened by Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickremanayake on December 15, writes Nadira Gunatilleke, Daily News, 081207 at http://www.dailynews.lk/.

British High Commissioner, National cricket teams of Sri Lanka and England and several other distinguished invitees will be present on the occasion.

Hampton village is located at Gurulewela, Ahangama consisting of 50 houses built for Tsunami affected people. Each house consist of two bed rooms, bathroom and other basic facilities located in a five-acres-land.

Fifty houses have been constructed of which 43 have been donated for middle class families. The families include teachers, nurses, clerical officers, police and navy personnel, agricultural advisors etc.
