The event at St Mary's Church in the Somerset village will include music from the Cheddar Male Choir and the soprano Sarah Brown.

The Reverend Thurairajah Samuel, who is the Superintendent Minister in the West Mendip circuit, organised the event.

He lost family in the disaster in the Indian Ocean in 2004.

Nearly 250,000 people in 13 countries died in the tsunami, which was triggered by a massive undersea earthquake.

Up to 170,000 people perished in Indonesia alone.
