The UN Habitat will set up 450 houses for tsunami affected in the Batticaloa district, writes M. I. Farook - Batticaloa district group corr., Daily News, Saturday, 27 December 2008 at http://www.dailynews.lk.

The aim is to rebuild the psycho-social activities of the affected.

The People's participation will also be obtained to construct these houses, an official of the UN Habitat, Ampara said. A meeting to select the beneficiaries was also held recently.

The beneficiaries will also be provided drinking water, health and infrastructure facilities, he added.
