Tuesday, 02 March 2010

Back with the insurers, but not Prudential this time. RSA Insurance Group has just revealed the estimated cost to the company of the Chilean earthquake, writes Nick Fletcher, the Guardian, Tuesday March 2 2010 at http://browse.guardian.co.uk.

RSA said it is the leading general insurer in the country, and reckons the earthquake would lead to claims totalling around £30m net of reinsurance. It admits that with the widespread damage caused since Saturday the situation was still evolving, but believes the earthquake should not effect its previous guidance.
